Big River Steampunk Festival

  • Main Street Hannibal, MO 63401 (map)

The Big River Steampunk Festival is held each Labor Day weekend and features fantastic events, fun contests and amazing performances that take place throughout historic downtown Hannibal. Different than Steampunk conventions held in large hotels, this Festival provides the opportunity to immerse yourself completely in the Victorian era as you stroll along the pedestrian-only historic Main Street amongst the authentic 1840s buildings just as Mark Twain did as a young boy. Put on your cosplay "Steam Persona" and relive the days of steamboats, steam trains, and the romance of the Victorian era along the western shore of the mighty Mississippi River!

Admission to the Big River Steampunk Festival held over Labor Day weekend is FREE TO ALL and many of the events, contests and performances are FREE and open to the public, including The Great Midway featuring more than seventy Steampunk merchants from around the country. You may also wish to subscribe to get our eMail newsletter or visit our Facebook page to hear all of the latest news about the Festival.

The Festival is produced by Ken and Lisa Marks, co-founders of the Hannibal History Museum Foundation, a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. A portion of the Festival's proceeds benefit the Hannibal History Museum.
